Are you a daycare?

No. Playhouse Discovery Center is not a daycare or childcare program. We are a nonprofit organization creating opportunities for children and families to learn, explore, and connect through purposeful play. Our future space will offer open play, family programs, special events, a toy lending library, and other community-based activities.

Who is Playhouse Discovery Center for?

Playhouse Discovery Center is designed for families with young children, with programming and play experiences primarily serving children from infancy through age 8. We welcome children of all abilities and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where every family feels supported, connected, and welcome.

Do you have a space yet?

Not yet! We're currently working toward opening our permanent indoor play space in Prince George's County. In the meantime, we're bringing our mission to life through community play pop-ups, our growing toy lending library, and partnerships with local organizations. 

What is a Toy Lending Library?

Think of it like a library—but instead of borrowing books, families borrow toys, games, and learning materials to enjoy at home.

Our Toy Lending Library will help families:

• Explore new toys without the cost of purchasing them at full price.

• Encourage purposeful, open-ended play at home.

• Reduce waste by sharing high-quality toys within the community.

• Support children's learning and development through play.

How much will it cost?

We're committed to keeping Playhouse Discovery Center as affordable and accessible as possible. While we're still finalizing our pricing, we plan to offer a variety of options, including memberships, drop-in play, community events, and scholarship or reduced-cost opportunities whenever possible.

We're also exploring a co-op membership model, where families can choose to volunteer a few hours each month in exchange for reduced membership costs. Our goal is to create a space that works for families with a variety of needs and budgets.
